Rules, Terms & Conditions

Summary

All drawings are fundraising and information gathering activities for the nonprofit organization United We Pledge. In summary, your information will be used to contact you regarding our activities, offers and donation requests. You are able to remove yourself from this list at any time, however, doing so removes your eligibility from this and other drawings and offers.

Rules

These rules are legally binding terms establishing a “no purchase necessary” policy, ensuring random selection, and defining eligibility, deadlines, and prize details to avoid being considered an illegal lottery.

  1. No Purchase Necessary. Purchases will not increase your odds of winning.
  2. Eligibility Requirements: Drawings are for those aged 18 and up, unless explicitly designated. Any drawing for youth, we will not capture information permanently.
  3. Entry Details: All entrants must submit their name via the paper forms at our events, such as the county fair, parades or other in-person events. If you would otherwise like to be entered into the drawing, fill out this form. Entries are limited to one time per person per event. Since this is for multiple drawings, there are no start/end times. However, all entries will be removed no lateer than years’ end and the process will begin anew. 
  4. Prize Information: Prizes may be t-shirts ($30 value), pickleball paddles ($120 value) or other branded merchandise. Generally, there will be one prize per drawing, unless otherwise indicated.Detailed description, number of prizes, and retail value (ARV).
  5. Winner Selection & Notification: All names entered will be assigned a number. Those numbers will be placed in a randomizer and the number that is presented will be the winner. We will notify the winner by email or phone. We will also announce the winner on our social media platforms. If you would prefer to NOT have your name announced, you must send us a written statement explaining such. Write to United We pledge, 97 E Saint George Boulevard, Ste A, St. George, UT 84770. You must claim your prize within 30 days of being notified by coming to the Historic Pioneer Courthouse (our offices) and making the claim.
  6. Sponsor Identification: United We Pledge is the sole sponsor of these drawings. We are located at 97 E. St. George Blvd., St. George, UT 84770.
  7. Release and License: Participants agree to let United We Pledge use their name/likeness for publicity. Further, participants agree to allow United We Pledge to contact them in any way given, whether that is phone, email or standard mail. You may remove your name from our marketing messages at any time.

Legal & Compliance Considerations

  1. Social Media: Any social media platform we use will not be held liable for anything to do with our drawings. We comply with their specific promotional rules when we announce any drawing on such a platform. 
  2. Taxes: Winners are responsible for taxes on prizes, and we will issue 1099 forms for prizes over $600.
  3. Random Picker: We will utilize a randomizer to pick the winning number.

Special Considerations

  1. Taxes: Prizes are generally treated as income, and tax liability is the winner’s responsibility.
  2. State Regulations: Certain states, like Utah, have specific prize notification, disclosure, and, in some cases, registration requirements for large prize values. Generally our prizes are much less than the value ceilings, but if not, we will follow those rules found in Utah State Code chapter 28.
  3. Disqualification: We reserve the right to disqualify entrants violating rules or acting in a fraudulent manner.
