Why Nonprofits Like UWP Hold Events, Ask For Money, Need Volunteers and Also Sell Stuff

United We Pledge Fundraising

For United We Pledge, Liberty Week—the week preceding and including Independence Day—is critical and pivotal for the rest of our year. It’s like a commercial enterprise’s Black Friday, the time of year where we make a major chunk of money to keep the mission going. Today, we are eager to share the structure and essence of our fundraising efforts and how you (yes, you!) play a crucial role in our mission.

United We Pledge operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, driven by a singular mission – to provide best-in-class educational platforms, learning destinations, and patriotic celebrations focused on the history and core principles of our nation’s founding documents. Our flagship program, “Give Me Liberty,” stands as a beacon of hope in a landscape where civic education often takes a backseat.

But here’s the reality; achieving our mission requires resources, and as a nonprofit, we rely on your support to keep our wheels turning. So, how do we connect with and engage our community to help keep the vision alive? Our answer is that we do it through events, donations, volunteers, and our merchandise store!

Events

Events are the primary way we foster public engagement. These gatherings aren’t just about raising funds; they’re about forging connections and sparking conversations that drive meaningful change. Events are a fun and appealing way for us to connect with the larger community and drive home the reason for what we do with the citizens around us.

Whether it’s a casual get-together or an elegant gala, or even a parade with the Give Me Liberty Bus, each event is an opportunity to be part of something more. That’s why we invite and notify you of all of our events before they happen—we want to see you there!

Our events aren’t just about raising funds; they’re fantastic storytelling platforms. From the heartfelt anecdotes of those touched by our programs to the infectious enthusiasm of our President, each event is a testament to the power of human connection. It’s not every day you get to shake hands with champions of liberty – and that personal touch can turn attendees into lifelong advocates.

In other words, the value of an event isn’t just in attending it; it’s about becoming part of a movement that’s reshaping the narrative of civic engagement.

Donations

Now, let’s talk about donations – the lifeline of our organization. While the term “nonprofit” suggests a lack of financial motive, the reality is, we need your support to turn our vision into reality. Your donations aren’t just contributions; they’re investments in a brighter future for generations to come.

Requesting donations isn’t just about keeping the lights on; it’s about growth and sustainability. With your financial support, we can amplify the reach of our programs, such as the “Give Me Liberty” program, expand our reach to more schools, other organizations, and youth with the “Give Me Liberty Bus”, and make a tangible impact on the communities we serve. Especially among the youth we inspire.

Volunteers

Volunteers are critical to the mission of United We Pledge. Although we do not raise money from volunteers, they help us at our events in major ways.

From unfurling a gigantic flag to crowd control or other help that we would otherwise hire out for, like actors who represent classic American figures at certain events, these special people give us the ability to achieve our fundraising activities and outreach programs more effectively.

We sincerely appreciate the spirit of volunteerism that is so prevalent in our community here in Southern Utah. If you would like to get involved, just click this button to see and sign up for some of our volunteer opportunities.

Merch

Last but not least, let’s talk swag – because who doesn’t love a bit of merch? From stylish tees and ballcaps to statement pieces like pickleball paddles and hand-carved-by-a-veteran wooden flags, our merchandise isn’t just about looking good; it’s about spreading the word far and wide. Plus, when you purchase United We Pledge swag, you’re not just getting a product; you’re investing in our mission.

Did you know we also sell commemorative bricks? These humble building blocks aren’t just another item on our shelves; they’re the foundation of Liberty Village, a visionary project that’s redefining the way we engage with our history. By purchasing a brick, with your name or message on it, you’re not just leaving a mark; you’re building a legacy for future generations.

Each brick will help us build Liberty Village, our landmark historical themed park in southern Utah. This destination will be a great place for families, youth and individuals to experience our American heritage in a uniquely different way.

Liberty Village will be like a theme park. But, instead of goofy cartoons walking around, this will be a place where authentic history comes to life, where your child can rub shoulders with the likes of Ben Franklin and Abigail Adams, and walk in the footsteps of the founding fathers. It’s not just an education; it’s an experience, a journey through time that leaves a lasting impression on young minds.

So next time you see an event invite from United We Pledge pop up in your inbox or come across a donation request on social media remember this: your involvement matters more than you might think! Whether you’re mingling at an event or making contributions big or small, you’re playing a crucial role in supporting a cause that strives for positive change.
